Two Weeks to Go!
In two weeks or less, we will welcome the next Baby Hampton. At yesterday's doc appointment, I had not dilated at all and was only 50% effaced (if that means anything to you...) It looks like this little kicker is hanging in there until the January 5 scheduled C-section. I will give you an update after the next appointment this Monday. Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas at Community Bible Study
The children from Community Bible Study had an opportunity to sing a few songs they have learned since September today. Elliot was very well-behaved on stage and was resistant to departure when they were done. He only chimed in every now and then, but he looked comfortable just bending his knees and tapping his feet!

Music Appreciation Class at the Hamptons
George and I thought it was critical to ensure Elliot has an appreciation for the art of music.

The Heart of a Babe
Elliot and I went for my baby check-up on Monday morning and had a chance to listen to the baby's heart. It will be 29 weeks on Thursday, and the baby is doing great. The sonogram revealed that the babe is already about 3.5 pounds and that the kidneys no longer appear to be an issue. We have tentatively scheduled a C-section for January 8.
A Long Day for Elliot in Santa Fe
Sorry if the camera is moving a bit; I was laughing too hard to hold it still!

A Visit from Mimi
Elliot recently enjoyed a visit from the Mimi. He especially loved that she would read as many books as he brought her way!
Elliot's First Ride
Elliot took his first cruise up and down the driveway on his new running bike. In Germany they skip the training wheels and use these running bikes (no pedals) to teach kids to balance.

Elliot's First Guitar
Elliot is mesmerized by live musicians, so George decided he needed a guitar for himself. While in Old Town on Friday, we picked up this guitar to enable the musician inside to break free! Plus, I figure these pics can be used when they feature Elliot on "True Life Story" when he is a famous rockstar!

Dancing to Natalie in the Car
While en route to Disney, Elliot and Joseph jammed out to Natalie Grant music.
Spinning with Joseph and Elliot
While Joseph Broad was visiting, George served as entertainment to the boys by spinning in circles. We loved hearing Joseph say, "Try again!"
Hammock Time in Michigan
While at the Welsh family reunion in Brooklyn, Michigan, last weekend, George and Elliot took some time to enjoy the hammock in the Hausmanns' yard.
Baby Hampton Heartbeat
Don't worry if you don't see anything on this clip...the camera is simply facing the ground while we use it to record the heartbeat of Baby Hampton (ETA January 15, 2009). Isn't it cool?

Waiting for the Dad
Elliot and I went to pick George up from work one day and had time to visit in the car.

Climb and jump
Elliot finds joy in climbing and jumping...climbing and jumping...climbing and jumping...

Sun, sand, and food
These are a few "accidental" clips from Saturday (didn't know it was on the video setting rather than still photos). There is also a clip of dinner with Elliot. He has seen us blow on his food and say, "Hot" so many times that he no longer trusts our judgment when we tell him to go ahead and eat something.

Hanging by the Sea
When Elliot and I were in Del Mar, he figured out that he loves to sit on the rocks and play in the dirt!
The Big Sweep
Elliot has a great interest in the broom. I now have to sweep when he is asleep in order to complete the task. Out of fear that I would once again take the broom from him, he decided to go outside and shut the door on me.
Del Mar Beach
Elliot and I enjoyed the beautiful day on the beach in Del Mar until we were almost carried out to sea! Elliot will be 16 months tomorrow! His favorite food right now is kiwi fruit. They were handing out samples at Trader Joe's last week, and Elliot ate half a kiwi...even the peel! He is addicted to exploration and climbing. He likes the swing at the playground but not for long. He is quickly ready to run around again! Although he used to get a little upset about the nursery at church and the gym, now he is upset when I make him leave the other children and all the toys. We have a blast finding creative ways to wear him out each day!

Cruising in my Car
We were excited when Elliot learned to sign that he wanted "more" food or milk rather than just grunting at us. Now he applies it to everything he wants "more" of...
Mimi and Elliot read together
Only now am I learning how to load these clips, so this is one from earlier this month when Mimi visited. Elliot was reading to Mimi!
Laughter is the best medicine
George arrived home about the same time Elliot was getting out of the tub. He raced into Daddy's arms, ready for his nightly spin around the room! The laughter really is contagious!
